  • Description

A destructive computer worm dating back to 2007 and thought to be the first known cyber-weapon. Stuxnet targeted Iran’s nuclear program, ultimately destroying nearly one-fifth of the country’s nuclear centrifuges. Initial infection was through a corrupted USB flash drive. Once it found programmable logic controllers, the malware would execute code that damaged the equipment the infected PC controlled.
